Race Report

This past weekend I raced the Manufacturer’s Cup at Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, CA. The layout was reallly cool, very fast, the track was watered before each heat which made tire choice tricky, your tires were either good at the beginning or good at the end. For the Pro class they ran 4 races for each pro class, and they were done in the Reedy Race format and you were allowed 1 throw out in each class, I raced pro buggy and pro truggy.
We had open practice on Friday, followed by controlled practice where we were allowed to practice our starts from the grid.
On Saturday we ran 2 races in each class, truggy was up first, there was only 1 heat of truggy and I was able to take the win in both of the truggy races. In buggy there were 2 heats and I was also able to win both my races but since there were 2 heats, Ryan Maifield also won his 2 races so we were tied going into Sunday.
Sunday morning in the first truggy race, I again was able to take the win which would give me the overall championship. In the first buggy race, I started 9th on the grid and made my way up to the front very quickly and was in second when the leader landed a jump and flamed out, I was so close behind that I got collected by him, which allowed several drivers to get around and get ahead. I ran cleans laps and was able to get up to 2nd but Maifield had too big of a gap, and I was only able to finish 2nd. In the final buggy race on Sunday I started 7th with Maifield starting 8th beside me, I got up to 2nd right off the start, then I battled with Maifield but was only able to finish 2nd which gave me 2nd overall.
The team all worked very well together, sharing setups, tire information and pitting for each other and the Xray/RC America team was able to take the team championship for the 2nd year in a row.

I want to thank my sponsors for giving me the opportunity to race with amazing products, everything worked flawlessly, Xray, RC America, Proline, OS Engines, Hobbywing, MKS, VP Fuel, A Main Hobbies, Protek RC, Hudy, Lunsford, Avid, StickIt 1, Darkside Designs, 110% Racing, MR33, Live RC, Red RC.

Thanks to my Dad, Mom and sister for all they do for me, always being there for me and supporting me in my racing, and most importantly I want to thank my my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t be here without him.
